About me

"In a period of reflection and learning"

Hi, my name is Manolo Venturin and I am a Data Scientist and a Mathematical Modeler.

In 2002, I graduated with a master's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Padua with a thesis in applied mathematics on the numerical approximation of curves and surfaces.

In 2005, I obtained a PhD in Applied Mathematics (numerical analysis) with a thesis on the numerical approximation of the shallow water equations in Venice lagoon using a finite element method.

Afterwards, in the co-financed postdoc in Numerical Analysis carried out at the University of Verona, I developed a numerical code for the simulation of solar and aeraulic systems where I used Linear Graph Theory for the modeling of the system components.

For more than 8 years I have been working in a company that deals with simulation and data science in the industrial field and I have been regularly involved in various European projects as work package leader.

Currently, I am on the board of the SIMAI (the Italian Association for Applied and Industrial Mathematics) where I set the goal to promote the applied mathematics in the industrial field.
